What I never anticipated....

I've never been a big book reader. In fact, I have a picture of me reading a book as a kid... I'm sleeping with the book open next to me. What I never anticipated is that I would be so excited for a new book release, or that I'd have a favorite author!

This all started when I was off last winter with nothing else better to do that was quiet while my working hubby worked 2nd shift. My friend Jamie and my sister were both reading the same book, and while I waited at Barnes & Noble for my automatic car starter to be installed on my truck next door at American, I glanced across the table and saw the book... Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer. I picked up a copy, sat down on the comfy chairs, and opened it up. Five chapters in and my phone rings... "Ma'am, your vehicle is ready" said the service man. (by the way, I hate being called Ma'am.) As I stumbled up reading the last paragraph of the chapter, I gathered my things and headed to the checkout to buy the book!! I had to, I was into it and I had to know what was going to happen.

Three books later, about 1500 pages, I am now anticipating the release of Breaking Dawn, by Stephanie Meyer. What is it about these books that intrigued me and roped me in so? Not only are the books easy to read (for a non-reader), but the way the author writes is so relatable. The story is also totally a fantasy world much like Harry Potter, who's movies I enjoyed. The big new release happens tonight at mid-night. While I won't be at the store at mid-night, I will get up and go straight there tomorrow morning to get my copy!

My sister and I will, no doubt, have a reading-a-thon to get farther than the other, and know what is going to happen to Bella and her prince charming, Edward. I'm sure it will be all the talk between Jamie and I, aside from the growing babies in our bellies. Good thing I don't have any PC shows lined up for next week...I plan on coming home after having picked up Theo from Grandma and Grandpa's house everyday, plopping my butt on the couch and reading! Oh, and I'll have to eat dinner in there somewhere, too. Can I cook and read at the same time? I don't know, we will find out!!

Jamie loaned books 1 through 3 to me and I still haven't read them yet. Another excellent read is The Host by the same author. I was hooked and couldn't put it down! That's my problem. I become posessed when I read and nothing can peel my book from my fingers. Let me know how you like the 4th book. I promise I'll start reading the series soon.
